After the Yettinahole project, the state government is ready to start another disastrous drinking water project which is believed to hit the ecosystem hard. The state government is scheming to transfer water from the Linganamakki dam to Bengaluru city with the purpose of increasing the water supply.
Bengaluru development minister DCM Dr. G Parameshwara, talking to the press, officer to prepare a Detailed Project Report (DPR) in this consider. The distance between the Bengaluru and Linganamakki dam area is around 400 kilometers.
“Bengaluru may get 10 TMC of water from the Lingamakki dam the project cost would be around Rs 12,000 crores. We will make a final decision on the project after getting the DPR”, said the Dr. G Parameshwara.
