Demolish five floors of city hospital: Chennai High Court
The Chennai High Court has directed the State govt (CMDA) Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority Chennai corporation to demolish the top five floors on hospitals.
A Bench of Justice R.M.T. Teekaa Raman and P.D. Audikesavalu ordered that the demolition begins from June 16 under the supervision of T. Mohan. Photographs and video clips should be submitted in court on June 24
The division bench justice also ordered the disconnection of electricity supply to floors beyond the third floor.
A plea made by the hospital is rejected and order passed on May 9 the bench led by Justice Raman. However, they have given a concession with a heavy heart. They gave time for disconnection of electricity supply till June 15, so that they can find an alternative to the patients. And the court has made clear that no new patients will be admitted.
