Criticizing Pakistani cricketers for trying to meddle in internal affairs of India, Shikhar Dhawan said, "We don't need outsiders to advise us. First, fix your own country and then speak about others."

The ‘Gabbar’ of Indian cricket team may have found himself out of the Test team for the moment. He has more or less secure with his position in the limited-overs format. India gears up to prepare for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2020 in Australia.

"There's a saying 'Jinke ghar kaanch ke hote hain...woh dusron ke ghar pathar nahi phekte' [Those who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones at others]," he added. He felt that as an Indian citizen, it is his duty to stand up to the nonsense spread by Pakistani cricketers on social media.

"Appalling and worrisome situation ongoing in the Indian Occupied Kashmir. Innocents being shot down by oppressive regime to clamp voice of self-determination & independence. Wonder where is the @UN & other int bodies & why aren't they making efforts to stop this bloodshed?," tweeted Shahid Afridi for which Dhawan has replied.
