Congress party's troubleshooter DK Shivakumar heaved a sigh of relief after receiving clean chit in three cases lodged against him by the Income Tax Department. The IT sleuths had cracked down on 50 places, including his residences and offices in Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Delhi on August 1, 2017, and sources had stated that unaccounted property worth Rs 300 Cr was unearthed. A case was lodged with a special court in this regard.
However, DK Shivakumar too had moved court stating that the officials who lodged a complaint against him had no right to do so and hence the cases against him must be dropped. He had also stated that the allegations leveled against him were all baseless. With this, the court had given him a clean chit in three cases, while cases pertaining to Hawala transaction still stand against the minister.
