DMK leader MK Stalin says development should not harm people
DMK president MK Stalin expressed about the development works in the state, he said the party accepts the development but it against projects that would cause harm to people.
Stalin expressed his views in the meeting of Conference of Cauvery Delta Farmers, that the Union and State governments are going with Hydrocarbon, Methane and other projects in the delta region, despite stiff resistance from the people.
“Their objective is simple. Since agriculture can be taken up only of the land is available, their intention is to make the land unusable by implementing petrochemical and other projects that will affect the nature of the soil as well as the groundwater table,” Stalin said.
Stalin points out that Tamil Nadu people denied victory to the BJP on this recent Parliamentary elections. Hence the Centre did not take action to the problems of Tamil Nadu in Cauvery Water issue.
Stalin also stated that “In reality, the DMK will always welcome projects that are advantageous to the people and oppose those that ruin the prospects and live hood of the people.”
MK Stalin said the Union government to waive loans of farmers all over the county using the 1.76 lakh crore that was sent to its kitty from the Reserve Bank of India. Tamil Nadu Cauvery Water Welfare Association General Secretary S. Ranganathan said that resolution of the mandate of Cauvery Water Management Authority’s power did not get diluted in any manner.
