DMK MLA K Rathamani passes away in Puducherry
DMK MLA from Vikkiravandi assembly constituency, K Rathamani, died in the Jipmer hospital at Puducherry. He was 70 years old.
“Rathamani was diagnosed with stomach cancer and was under treatment for the last 3 months at Jipmer. He breathed is last on Friday morning. His body will be taken to his village,” Ex-DMK minister K Ponmudi said to media.
Rathmani won in the assembly elections by defeating K Velu of the AIADMK by 6,000 vote’s majority.
With his death, the number of opportunities in the assembly has over up to two. Quickly, Nanguneri constituency clear vacant after sitting MLA H Vasanthkumar quitted following his success in the Lok Sabha polls from Kanyakumari constituency.
