DMK to participate in human chain protest against hydrocarbon projects in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry

The DMK declared that its functionaries will partake in a human chain protest on June 12 to against the introduction of hydrocarbon projects in the Cauvery delta districts of Tamil Nadu and in the Union Territory of Puducherry.
 
A statement issued by DMK president M K Stalin stated that human chain protest was organized by the Perizhappirukku Ethirana Ezhyakam (an association to prevent disaster) established by late environment activist G Nammalavar.
 
The 596 km human chain will cover Villupuram, Puducherry, Cuddalore, Karaikal, Nagapattinam, Tiruvarur, Pudukkottai, Thanjavur, Ramanathapuram, and Rameswaram.
 
Stalin stated, “DMK workers will participate in large numbers in the human chain, to be held between 5:30 pm and 6 pm.
