EC all set to curb TDP Poll-Management tactics
Poll management seems to be a serious target-oriented affair especially when there is a cut-throat competition between the parties. TDP which came to power with an overall 2.06 percent difference of votes when compared to the Opposition, is now anxious that the party should hit a majority win. Apart from dicing perfect campaigning strategies, TDP president and AP CM Chandrababu Naidu is also known for his poll management which would increase the winning chances.
It was also a proved fact that TDP had won most of the elections in the past only due to its poll-management tactics. Be it an experienced leader or a newbie, the TDP high command ensures that their leaders are specifically trained to attract voters in the last few days of campaigning by hook or crook. Half of the allocated money will be disbursed only in the last two days before polling.
However, this time it will not be an easy win for any of the parties and when it comes to TDP, things turned double complicated with its enmity with the central government. Sudden raids by the Income Tax department authorities on TDP leaders is one of the Centre’s strategies to prevent the TDP from indulging in any last minute poll management activities.
One of the recent raids is on TDP Rajya Sabha member C M Ramesh. The Kadapa police have held raids on the residences of Ramesh on Friday and they did not find much though. Seems like Ramesh took all necessary precautionary measures. Putta Sudhakar Yadav, TDP candidate for Mydukuru constituency who was a close ally of CM Ramesh was also probed by the IT officials through raids. The ED attached the properties worth over Rs 300 crore belonging to Sujana Group.
All the above episodes make it clear that the Income Tax department in the shadow of the central government is trying to tighten corner TDP favor the YSR Congress Party in disguise.
