EC issues notice to Sunny Deol for violating poll code!
The Election Commission has recovered very well after their miserable failure in the initial phases in the Lok Sabha elections. They have been conducting close observation in all the pre-poll activities done by the candidates to ensure that everything follows the code of conduct.
The Election Commission has issued a notice to BJP candidate Sunny Deol for violating the Model Code of Conduct. Poll officials took serious note of a public meeting held by Deol during the silent period. Deol reportedly held a public meeting in Punjab's Pathankot on Friday night during the silent period, when election campaigning is banned.
Previously, EC has suspended many leaders like Navjot Singh Siddhu, Mayawati from campaigning. Even some alleging that EC has worked in the favour of BJP, till now they did well.
The Commission also found that loudspeaker was used in the public meeting which was attended by around 200 people. Polling in all 13 Lok Sabha seats in Punjab will be held Sunday. Deol is pitted against Congress's Sunil Jakhar from the Gurdaspur parliamentary constituency.
