EC must check vehicles of PM, Union Ministers: Mamata Banerjee
Trinamool Congress chairperson Mamata Banerjee on Saturday, 11 May, appealed the Election Commission to intensify their surveillance on the BJP leaders ahead of the final two phases of the elections.
Alleging that the BJP is using the money to buy votes, West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee demanded that the Election Commission (EC) should check all vehicles, including helicopters, used by PM Narendra Modi and other Union Ministers. She also asked the EC to check her car and helicopter if needed. Mamata further urged the EC to maintain "proper democracy" in Bengal.
“I request the Election Commission to also check my car and helicopter. But, check all the Union ministers' cars and helicopters, too. They cannot be exempted. They are bringing in money in various ways,” the West Bengal CM claimed.
She criticized Modi for doing "nothing" in the last five years and challenged him to a live debate with her on television.
