Former PMK president Dheeran rejoins PMK party
After 21 years gap Dheeran has rejoined the PMK party after calling on PMK party founder S.Ramadoss at the Thailapuram residence. He was expelled in the year 1998 for opposing the AIADMK-BJP alliance in Lok Sabha poll.
Dr. Ramadoss said Mr. Dheeran was president of the party at its inception. “Both of us nurtured and strengthened the Vanniyar Sangam and the party during its initial days,” he said.
Mr. Dheera was in the year 1989 president of PMK, in 1996 Assembly election he was nominated form Andimadam of Ariyalur district from the PMK ticket. While when he expelled from the party he formed the Tamil Pattali Makkal Kazhagam. He had a brief stint in the Tamizhaga Vazhvurimai Katchi, launched by T. Velmurugan, another PMK dissident. After joint in AIADMK and was expelled from the party in 2018.
