Government of Andhra Pradesh has neglected the voter priorities”: ADR
Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR), a non-governmental organisation that advocates voters to combat corruption and to empower citizens, has released a report on Telugu Desam Party’s governance in Andhra Pradesh. It claimed that TDP has neglected voter priorities and performed poorly and underwhelmingly on everything, including employment, drinking water and farm infrastructure.
The survey released on Monday has rated Chandrababu Naidu’s governance below average in three primary areas in Urban parts of the state. Providing better employment opportunities, safe drinking water supply, and hospitals and primary healthcare centres are considered as the three primary areas which would influence the voters' decision.
Coming to the rural Andhra Pradesh, availability of water for agriculture, subsidy for seeds and fertilizers and electricity for farms were top priorities and the government performed below average on these as well. The state government scored 2.13 on a scale of 5 on the availability of water for agriculture, 1.99 on farm subsidy and 2.19 on power for the farm sector, the report added. "In addition, the government has performed poorly on noise pollution (1.96) and traffic congestion (1.98) in urban areas. Better employment, drinking water and pollution were top priorities for the voters in urban voters“ the report said.
On the whole, the Andhra Pradesh Survey Report 2018 points out that TDP government have been neglected the priorities of the citizens and has performed poorly on almost all top 10 voter priorities.
