HD Deve Gowda says ‘High command will decide on alliance’
JD(S) chief HD Devegowda said the Congress high command will take the decision on the formation of the future alliance between the two parties. And that CLP leader Siddaramaiah and not his son Ex-CM Kumaraswamy would-be leader of the opposition in a legislative assembly.
Following the collapse of Congress-JD(S) coalition government, and senior Congress leaders had said the party ways with the JD(S) and eye on the progress the state unit of the party. Meanwhile, the KPCC chief Dinesh Gundurao demanded the state unit follow by the party’s instructions.
“Kumaraswamy agreed to become chief minister on the order of Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, who recently resigned as the president of AICC”, Gowda said, “The future (of the alliance) will depend on whatever decision the (Congress) high command takes. I don’t want to say anything further on it at this time.”
Deve Gowda said “For the next three years and eight months of (BS) Yediyurappa’s government, Siddaramaiah will be the leader of the opposition. Kumaraswamy is the floor leader of a political JDS party. He also promised to “reveal certain things.” Gowda said “we were in difficulty… I did not give positions to Karyakartas who fought for me.”
