Hyderabad Metro Rail to start Ameerpet - HITEC City stretch of Corridor III on Wednesday
Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL) has announced the metro train operations for the Ameerpet-HiTec City stretch of Corridor III on Wednesday. Five out of the eight metro stations between the Ameerpet to Hitec city stretch of the Hyderabad Metro Rail will begin operations.
Andhra Pradesh and Telangana Governor ESL Narasimhan will be inaugurating the corridor on Wednesday in a low-key affair minding the upcoming Model Code of Conduct (MCC) due to the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Regular train operations will start from 4 p.m. on the same day with a frequency of service between 9-12 minutes. To maintain speed and frequency, Jubilee Hills Check Post, Peddammagudi and Madhapur stations will not be opened for public. However, the stations will be opened for all after a few weeks.
Hyderabad Metro Rail MD N.V.S. Reddy informed that the passengers of Corridor-III that is at a stretch of 27 Km between Nagole-HiTec City can go straight to HiTec City and vice-versa while passengers of Corridor-I at a stretch of 29 Km between Miyapur-L.B. Nagar will have to change the train at Ameerpet metro interchange station.
The 10-km stretch with nine stations will establish metro rail connectivity to IT/ITES service areas. HMRL has developed the Taruni-Madhura Nagar station into a woman-managed station which would cater to the needs of women and children.
“Reverse facility for the trains beyond the Hi-tech City station in front of Cyber Towers and Trident hotel is also been constructed by L&T Metro and would be completed in a couple of months,” said Mr Reddy.
HMRL has also informed that more staff will be deployed to guide commuters to the right platform during the single line operation.
