Hyderabad police arrests 9 men in connection with TSRTC bus theft
Afzalgunj police who immediately deployed a special team to trace the stolen bus which belongs to the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) from MGBS, has however busted the case and arrested a notorious gang which belongs to Nanded district of Maharastra.
Upon the complaint filed by RTC driver Jaggari Venkatesham on April 24 belonging to Kushaiguda depot, Afzalgunj police were immediately into action tracing the bus. Hyderabad Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar said, "Special teams were formed to make rigorous pursuit in tracing the missing bus and apprehend the offenders". The investigation says that the bus was located at Nanded of Maharashtra. On reaching the spot, the dismembered parts of the stolen bus were found intact.
Syed Abed and his brother Syed Zehad who are auto drivers by profession were accused of stealing the bus on the night of April 24 which was parked. Later, a notorious criminal gang headed by Naweed and Farooq was handed over the bus, which crossed the bus depot at 12.03 am. The bus headed towards Toopran. With the help of a towing crane, the Maharastra additional teams could trace the bus after it broke down en route, near Bokar, which is 60km away from Nanded. Commissioner, in a press meet, said that with the help of counterparts in Nanded, Maharastra found the bus.
All the parts of the bus were recovered and seized other material including gas cutting cylinders with gas cutter pipes used in the commission of the offence from the permission of the accused besides cash of Rs.19,500. Commissioner has appreciated the good and swift work investigation under the leadership of ACP Sultan Bazar.
