Hyderabad student shoots himself after he fails to clear JEE (Mains) exams
A 21-year-old Hyderabadi student committed suicide by shooting himself after he fails to crack the JEE (Mains) exam on Monday morning. The student was identified as Sahil who shot himself with his father’s pistol at his Neredmet residence of Malkajgiri area in Hyderabad on Tuesday morning.
The victim's father is a retired army jawan and currently, he is working as a security guard at a private bank in Hyderabad. Sahil appeared for the recently held Class 12 board examination of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) as a private candidate. Sahil could not clear the exam due to which he was scolded by his father for not giving his best. The student committed suicide on Monday night when everybody was sleeping. His body was found on his bed in a pool of blood by his family members.
In the wake of the series of student suicides, the Governments of Telugu states are holding special awareness campaigns for students who are turning highly sensitive on getting failed in examinations.
