I couldn’t sleep all night exactly 3 years ago: PM Narendra Modi

PM Narendra Modi, while paying tribute to Indian soldiers on the third anniversary of the 2016 surgical strikes on September 28. He said, "It was also the night of September 28 three years ago when I couldn't sleep all night." "[I was] waiting for the phone to ring...That night scripted a golden story of our soldiers' valor," he added.

He was addressing BJP leaders and workers gathered to welcome him from his week-long US visit on Saturday evening at the Palam airport.

On the intervening night of September 28-29, 2016, the Army had carried out surgical strikes on seven terror launchpads across the Line of Control (LoC) in PoK. It had then announced on September 29, 2016, that India had conducted surgical strikes on terror camps along the LoC, using ground forces, inflicting “significant casualties” on terrorists.

On June 28, 2018, more video clips of the surgical strike released showing terrorists’ bunkers and military installations blown up.
