India defeated West Indies by 257 runs in the second test at Jamaica to register a 2-0 series whitewash. This is India's eighth straight Test series victory against West Indies dating back to October 2002. India has been awarded a total of 120 points in the World Test Championship (60 points each for two victories).
With concussion rules coming into place, West Indies had to replace Darren Bravo who was hit by a Jasprit Bumrah bouncer on Sunday with Jermaine Blackwood on Monday who played aggressively right from the beginning that inspired Brooks to score a fighting fifty. In the process, Blackwood stitched a gritty partnership of 61 runs with Sharmarh Brooks (50) to delay India's win in the pre-lunch session.
Chasing a near-impossible target of 468, West Indies batting once again failed to show stomach for a good fight as they caved in for 210 in 59.5 overs, well inside the fourth day. Ravindra Jadeja and Mohammed Shami took three wickets each.
With this thumping victory, Virat Kohli has become India's most successful captain in Test cricket history after registering his 28th victory in 48 Test matches as captain. The 30-year-old overtook former India captain MS Dhoni, who led India to 27 victories in 60 Test matches. Kohli and Dhoni are followed by Sourav Ganguly, who led India to 21 victories in 49 Test matches.
