Is JanaSena ahead in Eluru constituency?
Eluru, the district headquarter of West Godavari district which is said to the stronghold for the Kapu community is one of the talked communities in AP. This time the elections here are going to turn interesting as the contestants from all the parties are from the same community giving a tough competition to each other.
It was anticipated that Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan would contest from this constituency pertaining to the strong community support but has decided to field Reddy Appalanaidu from Toorpu Kapu (BC) community. On the other hand, ruling party TDP has given the ticket to Badeti Kota Ramarao who hails from Kapu (OC) community. Whereas, YSR Congress opted Alla Nani who is said to be one of the loyal leaders the party. He had even won a couple of times but from the Congress party from Kapu (OC) community.
This will now lead to the division of votes between TDP, YSRCP, and Jana Sena which in turns leads to cut-throat competition. As Kapus constitute about 65% of voters there will be a situation where votes are split equally split as all the candidates carry goodwill in the constituency. However, if money is going to play a key role, it would be Reddy Appalanaidu that will be lagging behind.
Media reports also suggest that BCs here might go with Reddy Appalanaidu as they could identify with him rather than other two candidates. So, can we count a seat for Jana Sena party from Eluru constituency?
