Though in partnership at the national level, Congress and TD have opted to contest individually in Andhra Pradesh. Seems like the bitter results Congress faced in Telangana assembly elections in alliance with TDP, has driven the party to take the decision of contesting alone. Nevertheless, if the inside information is believed to be true, TDP apparently is giving secret support to Congress pertaining to certain political calculations.
The inclusion of special status promise in Congress' manifesto has come as a breather for the party's revival in the state. And this is taken as the main subject for the ads that are being telecasted in AP. TDP which is also accusing Modi’s government of the same has found another reason to target BJP and support Congress.
The leadership of TDP which is known for the last minute miracles to bring in the votes has made a clever strategy of pushing Congress in Andhra Pradesh which would split YSR Congress' vote bank. Minorities which are said to be the vote back of Congress from ages has been spilt on the political entry of YSRCP. Their support will no doubt change the fate of parties.
This hints the political circles that the Congress party which could not make a deposit in previous elections has rolled up the sleeves to revive its chances in Andhra Pradesh.
