Jagan stands as the top Andhra politician spending on social media for election campaigning
With social media playing a crucial role in every nook and corner, elections parties are making maximum use of it as a part of the election campaign. Social media campaigning has become a key factor which is helping the parties to pitch in the voters especially the youth. Political parties in Andhra Pradesh are taking the major chunk of the paid advertising on Facebook.
Y.S Jaganmohan Reddy, YSR Congress President is one of the top spenders among Indian politicians as per the February and March reports by Facebook Ad library. He stood at the 27th place in Indian politicians and topped the list in Andhra Pradesh by spending Rs.1.79 lakh for 25 ads.
Indian Political Action Committee (I-PAC) founded by Prashanth Kishore is also promoting the YSRCP’s party's digital content and agenda with the help of publicity campaigns. I-PAC is said to be spending Rs. 53,392 on these campaigns. This also involves the amount spent on unofficial fan pages of the party.
TDP Chief and Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu stood at 44th place among the top 50 spenders on Facebook ads with Rs. 90,975 spent on 13 advertisements while IT Minister Nara Lokesh's Facebook spend stood at Rs. 39,288.
Other leaders from Andhra Pradesh like Raghuveera Reddy, AP Congress head who is spending nearly Rs. 35,051 while leaders BJP's Kanna Lakshminarayana, AP co-in charge Sunil Deodhar and Devineni Hamsa, TDP's Devineni Avinash, Rajiv Bolla, MLC aspirant Nallamilli Sesha Reddy are also spending a mammoth amount on their campaigning amount on social media.
