Karnataka political crisis: Section 144 imposed near Mumbai hotel where rebel MLAs are present
Mumbai Police on Wednesday imposed prohibitory orders near the hotel where the rebel Congress and JD(S) MLAs from Karnataka are staying.
“We have invoked Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) Section 144 near the hotel,” a senior police official said.
Section 144 of the CrPC prohibits an assembly of more than four persons in an area.
Congress leader and Karnataka minister DK Shivakumar, however, stay put outside the hotel.
This was after Congress leader and Karnataka minister D K Shivakumar turned up at the Renaissance Hotel in Powai area but was prevented from entering the hotel and meeting the rebel MLAs staying there.
