Following the reassembling the Congress after its defeat in the 17th general polls, the All-India Congress Committee (AICC) decided to dissolve the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) to restore it.
Apart from that, the President and a working president will be not changed, stated by AICC general secretary K.C. Venugopal. Thus, KPCC president Dinesh Gundu Rao and working president Eshwar Khandre will be holding their posts. The dissolution of the KPCC would mean that 21 Vice-presidents, one treasurer, 65 general secretaries, 170 secretaries, and various leaders will no longer hold their posts anymore. Previously the Congress leader and Ex-Minister R. Roshan Baig have suspended form the party due to anti-party activities.
