Karnataka Linganamakki reservoir is being released into the Sharavathi river with the maximum capacity. While the water level is recorded the 15,993 cusecs by lifting 11 gates. So the water volume is reached to 1,818.90 ft the nighter level of 1,819.
 
Meanwhile, the reservoir is the source of Sharavathi Hydel power project has the capacity of 1,469 MW power and also 1,035 MW from Sharavathi Generating station, 240 MW from Gerusoppa power station, 139 MW from the Mahatma Gandhi powerhouse and 55 MW from Linaganamakki Dam powerhouse.
 
The water level for Linganamakki reservoir has installed in the year 1964, it has reached 15 times of maximum level and the previous instance was in 2018.
 
Meanwhile, the Jog falls at Linganamakki reservoir where Sharavathi river takes the plunge from the height of 830 ft, has regained its glory, owing to the discharge of water.
