LoL! Man cancels Amazon Prime Subscription, Alexa calls him 'sh*t head'
We all know that Amazon Alexa, known simply as Alexa, is a virtual assistant developed by Amazon, first used in the Amazon Echo and the Amazon Echo Dot smart speakers developed by Amazon. But, in a strange albeit hilarious case, The AI blurted out the swear word to a user in England is getting viral in the social media platforms.
Coming to the incident, A 29-year-old UK man, Michael Slade, claimed Amazon's Alexa called him 'sh*thead' in response to his request to play music, one day after he canceled his Prime subscription.
Here's what it said: "Sure, here's your playlist Shithead on Amazon music. Sorry, something went wrong."
When contacted, Amazon's technical team allegedly apologized and offered him a gift card worth about ₹437 (£5). "They kept saying sorry but they didn't know what had happened," he said, noting that the company apologized for the incident and paid him £5 as compensation. "I was a bit annoyed - five pounds is hardly enough for being called s*** head," Slade said.
Amazon said someone might've fiddled with his playlist, but Slade claimed he never made one. Though the exact reason behind Alexa's rude response remains unclear, there could be two possibilities one might be a bug and others could be playlist customization.
