'Masood Azhar is active and alive': Pakistan Media
Ending the speculations over the news of Masood Azhar's death which is going viral from the past two days, Pakistan media released a report on Sunday that he is alive. However, they didn’t disclose the source’s name, quoting unnamed sources close to his family.
The news of Jaish-e-Mohammed Chief and India's most wanted terrorist's death started taking rounds in the social media lately. Geo Urdu news and his close family members have however confirmed that Masood is active and alive.
Pakistan has recently stated that Masood is in Pakistan but is quite unwell, after which the gossips of his death came out. When asked about the same, Fawad Chaudhry, the Federal Information Minister declined to respond saying: "I don't know anything at this moment.”
Meanwhile, the hashtags like #MasoodAzharDEAD are trending in Indian social media. But now Pakistan media has confirmed that the most wanted terrorist is still alive. Moreover, the US, the UK, and France have moved a proposal in the UN Security Council to declare Masood Azahar as a global terrorist.
The 50-year-old Azhar, who was released by the NDA government in 1999 in exchange of hostages of the hijacked Indian Airlines plane IC-814, has been accused of being the mastermind of the 2001 Parliament attack, suicide attack on Jammu and Kashmir state assembly, attack on Pathankot IAF base and the latest Pulwama terror strike.
However, there is no official confirmation from the Government of Pakistan on the claims made by the media
