Mehbooba Mufti Condemns Centre's Article 370 Move-in Jammu & Kashmir
Today after the presidential order to remove the Article 370 of the Constitution, which gives Jammu and Kashmir privileged status, the former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir 'Mehbooba Mufti' struck the government who is one of those put under house arrest.
She said the government wanted to alter Jammu and Kashmir's demographics. Today, the home minister “Amit Shah” said in parliament that Jammu and Kashmir will be reorganized after the announcement of Article 370 would be scrapped which grants J&K the special constitutional State.
Under the proposal, Ladak will be a Union Territory without assembling whereas Jammu and Kashmir will be Union Territory with an assembly. Two Lieutenant Governors will be there. Mehbuba Mufti said that “Today is the darkest day in Indian democracy. The decision of J&K leadership to reject 2 nation theory in 1947 & align with India has backfired. Unilateral decision of GOI to scrap Article 370 is illegal & unconstitutional which will make India an occupational force in J&K”. It was the statement of the former chief minister of J&K on Twitter.
She also wrote “Not sure how long I'll be able to communicate. Is this the India we acceded to?” on twitter. Mr. Abdullah said that the decision on Article 370 was a "complete betrayal of people's confidence" and that it was an "aggression."
