Milind Deora Sunday submitted his resignation from the post of Mumbai Congress President. After resigning he says that he is looking forward to playing a role at the national level. And he adds that he will help stabilize the party.
Milind Deora says that there is a need to set up a provisional collective leadership comprising of three senior Congress leaders, who will oversee the party unit until Maharashtra assembly polls, which will happen later this year.
Deora had expressed his desire to quit shortly after meeting Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in the national capital on June 26. “The same has been conveyed to All India Congress Committee general secretaries Mallikarjun Kharge and K C Venugopal,” the statement said.
