In charge of the Minster of Kodagu district, S.R Mahesh argues the actor Harshika Poonacha’s remarks on the quality of houses built for the flood victims at Kodagu. The notice of Mr. Mahesh that Ms. Poonacha had alleged that the quality of houses built by the government was inferior, the Minister asked the actor’s expertise.
 
Mr. Mahesh stated that “who is she? She is a film actor. She can speak on films” before asking her technical knowledge in the field of construction of houses. Mr. Mahesh also asked to know her educational details.
 
Responding to Ms. Poonacha stated as a people of the country and belonging to Kodagu, she has the right to ask the quality of houses the government had a construct for the flood victims. “I have seen the houses. They look like tin sheds. My only request is for the government to build houses that do not hurt the self-respect of the victims,” she said. She also added she has completed engineering with distinction.
 
Minister’s remarks on the actors, she replied, “Film personalities have already shown what they are capable of doing in Mandya. It’s advisable for the Minister not to speak ill of them.”
