Nama Nageswar Rao to quit TDP and entering Congress?
If sources are to be believed, Congress Party is planning to rope in Telugu Desam Party Polit Bureau member and former MP Nama Nageswara Rao and field him from Khammam Parliamentary constituency.
The former MP quitting the party will be a big jolt for the TDP in Telangana. His followers say Nama Nageswar Rao, a close aide of TDP president Chandrababu Naidu, has decided to quit the party as there is no future for the TDP in Telangana.
TDP has been losing ground in Telangana, with only two out of 15 legislators staying with the party in the state. Nama Nageswar is said to have conducted a survey and realized that TDP has no place in Khammam. His popularity, however, had not reduced. So, he decided to contest as MP from Congress.
It is learned that Nama Nageswara Rao is not an MLA currently, he was defeated by TRS’ Puvvada Ajay Kumar from Khammam Assembly constituency. Also, Nageswar Rao has been an MP before, representing Khammam between 2009 and 2014. Now, Congress is planning to rope him to contest from their Party.
