Nara Lokesh to contest from Mangalagiri constituency
TDP leadership has finally made an official statement revealing the constituency from which IT and Panchayat Raj Minister Nara Lokesh is contesting. The statement was made official amidst the speculations around the 2019 general elections.
Lokesh will be contesting for Mangalagiri Assembly constituency, although the names of Bheemili, Vizag North Assembly constituencies were considered. After holding meetings with party officials from various constituencies the high command has taken this decision for Lokesh.
Alla Rama Krishna Reddy is representing the constituency from YSRCP who defeated Ganji Chiranjeevi from TDP with a difference of 12 votes in 2014 general elections. The constituency has witnessed a strong dominance of Congress and the last time TDP won from Mangalagiri was in 1985 with Koteswara Rao as the candidate.
As Lokesh didn’t participate in the 2014 elections and was nominated as MLC, this times elections would be his debut. With this announcement, the politics in the Capital region turned interesting with a tough fight between the well-noted politicians.
