Production of wrapped foods and beverages, which involve added sugars, salts and non-fats, has been criticized for a variety of severe conditions such as high blood sugar, elevated blood pressure or heart disease, obesity and much more.
Health specialists, therefore, alert toward overeating of these foods and drinks, which may also involve artificial flavour enhancers, colouring agents and corn syrup. The surprising findings of the report come against the background of increasing numbers of obesity instances worldwide.
The study results were merged into a survey report entitled "Contrast of the safety of boxed foods and drinks from 12 nations using the Nutrient Profiling System of the Health Star Rating, 2013-2018." The study of the survey was released in the Obesity Reviews journal.
The study examined the safety of over 400,000 foods and beverages from 12 distinct nations and areas around the globe, among which those from India was found to be the most power-dense. The sugar concentrations are the second-highest after Chinese in Indian products and beverages and their dietary quality was discovered to be the lowest.
The study discovered that Indian vegetarian packaged foods produced 1515 KJ of energy per 100 grams and 7.3 g of sugar per 100 grams.
