YS Jagan Mohan Reddy recently accused TDP government was recruiting police officers that are belonging to Chandrababu’s community and for that Jagan demanded that Director General of Police R.P.Thakur should be removed from election duty. A day after YS Jagan allegation, DGP Thakur responded very sharply and replied, “Jagan’s allegations are baseless and Police officers don’t have any caste if there is separate caste for police then ‘Ours is Khaki Caste’”.
DGP Thakur said in a firm a voice that promotions are given based on pure merit and nothing more than that. We are here to work for the public, not for the personal work assisted by the political leaders. We strictly followed the guidelines of AP High Court during promotions. Thakur cleared Jagan that he is ready to give proper answers if election commission raises any doubt. DGP also mentioned his previous work which he has got huge recognition by the people when he was working as Director General (DG) of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB). On the other side, Home Minister Chinna Rajappa has condemned Jagan allegations. Chinna Rajappa said that High court guidelines have been duly followed in all promotions and he also alleged that the centre is trying to remove all the cases against YS Jagan
