Yesterday after Navjot Singh Sidhu talked to the media outside Punjab assembly, hashtags like #BoycottSidhu, #BoycottKapilSharmaShow, and #BoycottSonyTV started trending on Twitter and within 24 hours they are the top trends alongside #PulwamaTerrorAttack.
Former Indian cricketer and Punjab cabinet minister Navjot Singh Sidhu who is also the all-time guest in The Kapil Sharma Show is telecasted on Sony TV, has strongly condemned the attacks on CRPF soldiers stating: "This attack is a cowardly act and I condemn it firmly. Violence is always condemnable and those who did it must be punished.” But has invited the controversy with the followed statement, "For a handful of people, can you blame the entire nation and can you blame an individual?"
This remark received a mixed response but netizens have slammed the ex-cricketer. Netizens and Patriots are now demanding to drop out Sidhu from 'The Kapil Sharma Show’. The show even got the threatening messages that if Navjot has not been removed from the show, they would boycott the show without a second thought.
Navjot’s has already invited the controversy when he visited Pakistan for the swearing of Imran Khan as Prime Minister. Back then he defended his visit which invited a lot of criticism. Navjot said that the trip was his personal. But the fresh remarks on Pulwama attack is not receiving any appreciation from even a single person.
