Owaisi files nomination for the Hyderabad Lok Sabha constituency
Asaduddin Owaisi, President of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) has filed the nomination for the Hyderabad Lok Sabha constituency on Monday. This is the fourth time in a row that Owaisi sought the Lower House of parliament.
Hyderabad has been the stronghold of AIMIM for over three decades and the ruling party TRS also made it clear that it would back his candidature. Owaisi is a strong contestant in this Muslim-dominated segment. The TRS and the AIMIM have decided to team up to face the Lok Sabha elections jointly in Telangana.
Asaduddin Owaisi has filed the papers along with his party’s senior leader and MLA Ahmed Pasha Khadri before Returning Officer K. Manicka Raj, the Hyderabad District Collector couple of hours after the poll process began. Owaisi took to Twitter to announce the same as follows, “Alhamdulilah, filed my nomination papers today. Hyderabad Parliamentary Constituency has been the voice of India’s impoverished, oppressed and weak. Inshallah, it will continue to be so.”
