Pawan Kalyan Contesting from Gajuwaka Segment?
Earlier there was a buzz that Janasena Chief, Pawan Kalyan will contest either from Anantapur or Eluru or one of the Assembly Segments in East Godavari District. According to Janasena sources, there is pressure on Kalyan to contest from Gajuwaka following repeated requests from party cadre and leaders as it will give a boost to party nominees in north Andhra.
As per the latest updates, Pawan has been under pressure from his party cadre and leaders to contest from Gajuwaka, which was once a stronghold of the Praja Rajyam Party. Another factor that could have swung the decision in favor of Gajuwaka is that the actor-turned-politician is quite popular with the youth in the area.
It is learned that Gajuwaka, an industrial belt, is dominated by the Yadavs and Kapus, and they are likely to support Pawan Kalyan. It is one of the busy places in Vizag city nowadays with great potential for future development. Pawan is also considering it as a safe bet as there are many settlers from Godavari districts here.
Meanwhile, TDP party circles are toying with the idea of fielding Lokesh from Visakhapatnam North constituency as BJP nominee P Vishnu Kumar Raju won the seat in 2014 elections with the support of the TDP. The latest update from Janasena has forced TDP and YSRCP to review their decisions on Gajuwaka and come out with new plans to defeat Pawan.
