PM's 'New India' Theme: J&K to save water
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, speaking to the country today on Independence Day, declared a Chief of Defense Staff position to supervise the tri-services, a "Jal Jeevan mission" and provide water for all. This infrastructure will require Rs. 100 lakh crore's. He also said that unfortunately, even 70 years after independence, so many individuals lack access to water.
He also supported his government's historic choices within 10 weeks of his second term, including ending Jammu and Kashmir's privileged status and banning triple talaq or immediate divorce. On a "New India" theme, PM Modi also voiced concern about what he called the "demographic explosion" in India for the first time, saying that those who had restricted their family to only two kids were real patriots and worthy of regard.
PM Modi gave 92- minute speech at Red Fort in Delhi where his main object was the major move of the government, "Article 370". He said that the One Nation and One Constitution concept became truth and India is proud of it". He said that Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's dream of a unified India was fulfilled by the choices to end Jammu and Kashmir's privileged status and divide it into two Union Territories.
PM Modi also spoke of the triple talaq prohibition, stating that if they could take action against ' sati, ' female foeticide, child marriage and dowry, why not immediately against triple talaq?"
He also said that today's Indians were no longer satisfied with complacency. The period from 2014 to 2019 was about meeting the requirements of people. Now is the moment to complete their wishes and desires."
