PVP’s comments on Special Category status sets the state’s politics on fire
Renowned businessman and producer, Potluri Vara Prasad, who is now a Vijayawada MP candidate from YSR Congress party has made a controversial statement on 'special status' to Andhra Pradesh, one of the burning issues in the State.
In the recent CII summit, PVP was asked about the 'special status' to which he replied that it is such a boring subject and he did want to talk about it. The video showing PVP responding has been on the viral mode on social media.
These comments passed by PVP has lead to dire consequences which forced him to issue a clarification. "I did not intend to make any controversial comments on an issue Andhra is struggling to achieve. The summit is a non-political one and I don’t want to talk politics there. In a try to dodge the question, my speech was misunderstood. The people who released it have cropped it to a 17 seconds-video which led to the misconceptions,” he explained
MP Kesineni Nani from TDP who is the contender of PVP in Vijayawada responded on the issue saying that the issue shows the attitude of YSRCP towards issues that Andhra is fighting for. Nani also said that PVP, Jagan and his candidates are taking the common man's problems for granted.
