Topucharla Ravali, who was attacked by the stalker, died in Secunderabad Yashoda Hospital after she suffered from 70 percent body burns for a few days. The 20-year-old was set afire by Sai Anvesh, a stalker who poured petrol on her, as she rejected his love proposal.

Ravali from Ramachandrapuram in Warangal district is pursuing BSc final year in Vagdevi Degree College in Hanmakonda. Sai Anvesh who is the final year student from the same college started harassing her in the name of love.

He then attacked her with petrol at Ramnagar after which she was rushed to the nearby government hospital. She was later shifted to Yashoda for better treatment. Her condition was critical since she was admitted to hospital and on Monday evening, she was announced dead. Ravali's dead body is now moved to Gandhi Hospital for postmortem.

In the wake of these attacks on women, GoI has brought special ordinances to curb the atrocities. Few parents have opined that awareness sessions should be held for the youth on respecting women and being socially responsible.
