Revenue Minister R.V. Deshpande orders officials to visit villages mandatorily
Revenue Minister R.V. Deshpande stated that to have apprehended the rural complaints of the people, each officer including the Regional Commissioner, the Deputy Commissioner and Chief Executive Officer of Zilla Panchayat, must visit villages.
In officials meeting, the Minister visits the importance of remote rural areas in realizing and expressing problems of the rural community.
“Don’t force the people to run from pillar to post for getting their work done. The grievances should be addressed within a stipulated time. When you undertake a regular rural tour and meet people from different walks of life, you will better understand their problems,” he said.
Mr. Dehspande issues a task force meeting once every 15 days and talks about the main problems like in a drinking water crisis. When the Rural Drinking Water Supply and Sanitation Department Executive Engineer revanasiddappa said the meeting only 23 of the 1634 bore wells surveyed over the district were flushed.
“There is no dearth of funds for taking up drought relief work. The apathy, negligence and lethargy crucial issues like drinking water crisis will not be tolerated,” he said.
In the meeting Basavaraj Mattimud, Gulbarga Rural MLA told that the sufficient of drinking water being provided to Kusanur village in his constituency was insufficient for the 11,000 population, Mr. Deshpande set a time limit of 48 hours to solve the issue and asked Kalaburagi Tahasildar Sanjeev Kumar Dasar to send an action taken the report.
