Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandra Babu Naidu decided to hold a protest rally in the name of ‘Dharma Porata Deeksha’ in New Delhi on February 11 demanding BJP-led NDA government to grant special status for Andhra Pradesh. For that two trains has been hired by Andhra Pradesh government for more than Rs 1 crore, which will start from Anantapur and Srikakulam.
“Government of Andhra Pradesh decided to hire two special trains with 20 compartments each from south-central Railways, Secundrabad, i.e.., starting one train from Anantapur and another from Srikakulam to reach New Delhi by 10.02.2019 to transport interested political parties, organizations, NGO associations, etc... to participate in one day protest rally at New Delhi on 11.02.2019 to be led by the chief minister,” stated the government release.
After the Deeksha Naidu along with his MP’s will meet President Ram Nath Kovind and submit the memorandum to him demanding to fulfill the promise according to Special Status to Andhra Pradesh. Meanwhile, YSRCP leader Botcha Satyanarayana addressing the media on Thursday questioned the rationale behind spending the tax payer’s money on it. He termed it as ‘Donga Deeksha’ by Naidu to garner national attention at the cost of public money. Naidu, who is fast losing ground in AP to YSRCP before assembly polls, is trying to divert AP people’s attention by staging Fake Dharnas in Delhi at the cost of public money.
