Shiv Sena MP Arvind Sawant will be a minister in the Modi's Cabinet
Shiv Sena MP Arvind Sawant takes charge of PM Modi’s Cabinet. The federal parties failed. BJP and Shiv Sena parties allied in the parliamentary polls in Maharashtra and recorded a huge success. The coalition of BJP and Shiv Sena got 41 seats in 48 constituencies. BJP has gained 23 seats and Shiva Sena got 18 seats.
Today the new government formed by Modi is back to the office. Shiv Sena was also considered to be in the Cabinet. Shiv Sena Chief Anand Gite, who had previously already in-charge of the Union Cabinet, was lost in Raigad constituency.
Party sources said that Aravind Sawant, who won the parliamentary poll from South Mumbai this time, has been given an option to be in PM’s cabinet.
Arvind Sawant (68) was nominated to the Lok Sabha in the parliamentary polls by leading the Congress party’s Milind Deora by a margin of over 1 lakh to 67,000 votes.
In 2014 elections, Milind Deora was lost by 1,28,564 votes. Arvind Sawant, who later worked as an Engineer at Mahanagar Telephone Network Limited in 1995, gave a resigned letter and joined in politics.
She is presently working as a Vice-President of the Shiv Sena Party.
