The state Cabinet has taken the proposal of costing 3,667 acres of land to JSW Steel in the Ballari district. The sale was approved at Rs 1.50 lakh to each acre.
As per the sources, this verdict was taken among the objections from senior Congress leader, MLA H K Patil who stated that JSW Steel indebted over Rs 1,200 crores to the state-run MSIL.
As per the sources, a few officials seek CM HD Kumaraswamy to defer the issue to the next Cabinet meeting, quoting a letter from MLA H K Patil. However, industries minister K J George asked the CM to clear the proposal in this meeting only.
