First time in the country, the State government is started an online process for conversion of land use and building plan and layout approvals.
Introducing the online process, CM H D Kumaraswamy stated that it is a part of State’s attempts to bring transparency in management and help people obtain the necessary information without running from one department to another department.
The online process also admits applications to follow the report of their applications for land and building plans. A person can submit applications in the citizen portal, which will be followed by the computer verification, online payment, and sanction within a stipulated time. An applicant can finally avail a computer- generated a certificate with a digital signature. This process is awaited to develop the ‘ease-of-doing-business’ progress and quick the land conversion process for those planning to utilize agriculture land for commercial improvement. Elevating the demands from landowners about harassment and delay by revenue offices give rise to the government to clarify the changing process by utilizing sworn-in affidavits. “This initiative of the Urban Development Department will also enable the government to spot tax evaders and punish them. This will naturally increase the revenue to the government,” stated the Urban Development Minister U.T. Khader.
