Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami called on Governor Banwarilal Purohit at the Raj Bhavan. The State government states that it is a 'courtesy call', sources said that the meeting could have been on the issue of appointments to the top posts in the administration.
Personnel and Administrative Reforms Minister D. Jayakumar and Chief Secretary Girija Vaidyanathan were there at the meeting. Governor’s Secretary, R. Rajagopal has not attended the meet, so it is evident that as he is the senior officer after the retirement of Ms. Vaidyanathan.
There was no official note on the meeting from the Raj Bhavan.
The positions of the Chief Secretary and the Director General of Police are set to fall vacant when Ms. Vaidyanathan gets retirement and DGP T.K Rajendran’s extended tenure will come to an end.
