Tamil Nadu government plans to expand Trade Centre by invest of 255 crore
The Chennai Trade Centre at Nandambakkam is huge as the state government plans to expand its size from 25.48 acres to 35 acres. Its investment of 255 crores has been proposed by the government to expand the campus owned by Tamil Nadu Trade Promotion Organisation.
Industries Minister MC Sampath said, “Work will begin in October and will be completed by March 2021. The campus will be bigger by 9.13 acres and will have multi-level parking. Several initiatives like the generation of 500kw solar power, rainwater harvesting, and other environment-friendly activities will be carried out.”
“This is one of the initiatives to facilitate ease of doing business. The website will enable online booking with payment links. SMS and email notifications will be sent,” the minister said. Principal secretary of government N Muruganandam said, “Twenty-one trade parks have turned green since last month.”
