After recovering the body of a two-year-old boy from an unattended borewell in Tamil Nadu's Trichy, officials have filled the borewell and sealed it with a cement lid on Tuesday to avoid similar incidents in the future. In an uncovered Borewell in Nadukattupatti, Tiruchirappalli in which 2-year-old Sujith Wilson fell and lost his life.

 
The boy's body has recovered after over 80 hours of a rescue operation. They say that borewell is around 600 feet deep. Yesterday, the rescue had called off after a stench emanated from the old borewell, suggesting the child had died.
 
Government officials and rescue workers had been working continuously for the last 80 plus hours to retrieve the child. However, the digging process stopped at a depth of 65 feet of the borewell. On October 25, Wilson fell into the borewell while playing near his house at about 5:30 pm in Trichy. Later, he slipped further down into the borewell.
