Tamil Nadu warns schools against closure in water crisis

Tamil Nadu School Education department gave warning to private schools announcing holidays due to water shortage. There were reports that in Chennai the last week's many schools have been either closing school of KG and primary sections or reducing working hours due to the shortage of water.
The director of school education VC Rameswaramurugan says that “it is the responsibility of the schools to make the alternative arrangements, the schools should not declare holidays. If they don’t follow the rules, the government will take severe action” he said. He suggested the chief educational officials observe all schools. The private school management said that if in the case the schools are opened, the students may face health issues by the shortage of water.
The HM from city school “If the whole city is parched and facing water crisis, how the private schools can make arrangements for water? The department should take steps to make the water available to schools on a priority basis.”
