TDP candidate and a policeman were shot in Political riots!
In Andhra Pradesh's Kaggallu village on Saturday, TDP candidate of the Mantralayam constituency in Kurnool district was injured accidentally when his security guard opens the fire to control a political riot. He fires the revolver in the air and it has hit Thikka Reddy, a candidate of the ruling Telugu Desam Party.
This incident happened when he went to the village to hoist his party flag and however, supporters of YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leader and sitting MLA Balanagi tried to stop him and this led to the clash between these two groups.
Then immediately Thikka Reddy’s security guard opened fire and accidentally two bullets hit the TDP leader and an Assistant Sub-Inspector of Police. Both received immediate medical attention and were shifted to the hospital. They were now reported as safe. Elections to the Andhra Pradesh Assembly are scheduled along with the Lok Sabha polls in the state on April 11.
With this incident, the additional police force was rushed to the village to prevent further violence.
