Telangana police seize Rs. 8 Crores: Claims it to be from BJP’s party fund
Crores of money are literally flowing in the Telugu states with the elections stint all around. According to the reports, police has seized a whopping amount of Rs 500 crore and lakhs worth liquor so far. Though it is against the Code of the Conduct, almost all the political parties are indulging in money distribution to lure the voters.
To the latest, Telangana police have seized Rs 8 crore worth cash on Monday which is reportedly belonging to BJP fund. Going into details, the police has received information from credible sources that a huge amount of money is being transferred upon which all the nearby checkpoints were alerted. Police have caught hold of Rs 2 crore cash at Narayanaguda Y Junction transported by two people who are apparently the BJP followers.
When probed, the two men revealed that an additional Rs 6 crore cash is with five other people at Indian bank which was recovered. After a preliminary investigation, police have claimed that this money belongs to BJP and surrendered it to the IT department.
To everyone’s surprise, Krishna Prasad, the BJP party’s official spokesperson has admitted to the fact that the money belongs to BJP. “Telangana police is unnecessarily highlighting the issue. We were withdrawing our own party' funds from the bank and we are transporting it to our office. Out of nowhere the police arrived and has taken control of our own money with over-enthusiasm,” he stated.
Anjani Kumar, Hyderabad CP has stated to the media that they were only following the directions given by Election Commission of India. He also informed that their department is all set for the upcoming elections with necessary forces deployed.
